Dementia friendly Cafés
Twice a month St Richard's hall is transformed into an informal café for people living with dementia. Everyone is welcome especially those with memory difficulties and their supporters. The cafés are open for two hours, typically on the first Saturday and third Tuesday of the month (you will find the times and dates of the forthcoming events at the bottom of this page). No booking is required, just turn up on the day, and if you are interested in becoming a volunteer please do get in touch.
In January 2018 we opened our first Dementia friendly Café (then called Memory Moments Café) and the cafés are now thriving. Our guests, carers and volunteers all love coming along. The informal cafes provide a safe place for people with memory problems and their carer or loved ones to come along and enjoy some refreshments, company, often live entertainment and usually a lot of laughter!
